Our clients knew they wanted the versatility and timelessness of a contemporary-style home, but the home they fell in love with was severely outdated. With dark cabinets and grouted countertops in the kitchen, and a closed floor plan and outdated flooring, their home would require some significant renovations to bring it in line with the contemporary home the owners envisioned.

The home had many great things going for it, including multiple bedrooms for their large family, and a spacious backyard. The living area had plenty of square footage that just needed to be opened up and refreshed to give it that spacious, contemporary feel.

With our clients goals in mind–to achieve a functional farm feel and a modern white kitchen–we teamed with HGTV’s Property Brothers Johnathan and Drew Scott and confidently began the renovation. We strategically opened up the main living area to create a flow that went all the way from the kitchen to the living room. Throughout the home, we implemented a timeless neutral color scheme that included paint, flooring, and a beautiful fireplace. To fit the needs of their family, we also created a unique playroom just off the kitchen, complete with built-in storage and kid-friendly furniture.

The show-stopper of this renovation, and its namesake, was the modern, white kitchen. Alongside the Property Brothers, we transformed the whole area. We installed light quartz countertops, all-white cabinets, and a classy subway-tile backsplash. We added extra counter space to optimize space for their family and guests, and flooded the space with light by installing a wall-length, stackable sliding door to the backyard. The results were breathtaking. Take a look at the before-and-after photos below.
